Today is day 4 on my first-ever 21 Day Sugar Detox! I have had a ton of energy and felt really good; although I woke up this morning craving pancakes. So I had pumpkin pancakes made with egg, pumpkin, and coconut flour for breakfast! So yummy!
I had to get up at 4:30 yesterday and I usually feel really tired all day when I have to do that, but I felt strangely energetic and alive most of the day; it’s amazing when you realized how bad sugar was making you feel!
So now let’s talk about brownies because I really cannot go a whole three weeks without brownies. So what to do? Well I love making “food-free food”, so I made sugar detox friendly brownies that are free of both nuts and seeds (except for cacao).
These are considered a “not-sweet treat”, so def not something to eat all the time on a sugar detox, but they are just enough to satisfy that brownie craving!!

Hi:) these brownies look delicious, thank you. I wanted to post about your low carb sandwich bread since I didn’t see a comment section for it, sorry:(
I went to many grocery stores n was unable to find coconut butter, psyllium or the correct size pan. I thought it would have been so easy to find, it looks like an amazing bread, I guess I will have to make it another day. I follow the Wheat Belly lifestyle which applies to a low sugar/ carb lifestyle an feel I can apply your recipes perfectly!! Thank you for keeping your recipes coming:)

Hi Kathy, I will be posting the sandwich bread on Monday. I make my own coconut butter from coconut flakes and I get my psyllium from the local health food store. Amazon has both of these items; I recommend Now foods psyllium and Artisana or Nutiva coconut butter.
As for the loaf pan, here’s the one I use (also Amazon): http://amzn.to/1MZCRCz
This one looks similar: http://amzn.to/1MZCSpY

Yay, brownies with only bananas as sweetener! I have a question though: are nuts not allowed on the detox? I saw on another recent post that you had to stop snacking on cashews… I eat nuts all the time since I don’t eat sugar to get enough calories/energy – and they are delicious of course!
And also, are you planning on eating less sugar after doing the detox? I’d love to see more sugar-free recipes! Yum 🙂

Nuts are allowed on the detox; just not peanuts and cashews. Cashews tend to make you crave sugar more (which I can attest to!).
I do plan to continue to eat less sugar; I’ll still post more indulgent treats but I definitely plan on continuing to post some sugar-free treats and healthy & simple main dishes as well!
